The Communists vs the Nationalists
The Nationalist Party came about by the abolition of the feudalistic monarchy in the Qing Dynasty by Sun Yat-Sen in 1912. There was no central authority or power, but warlords fighting and the Nationalists were the main warlord. Not even but nine years later in 1921, the Chinese Communist Party was founded by young radicals from the University of Beijing in Shanghai. They ally together in 1923 because of their common ground- Western influence, and warlords. But, the Nationalists turn on the Communists. What comes around, goes around, and the Communists take over China. The Communists gained power over the Nationalist by unity, civil war, and dedication to the poor.
